Mya's FIrst Christmas Concert

Do you have an "Elf on the Shelf" at your house?  We do:) Ya Ya brought him into our family! Every night while we are asleep "Elfie" hops off his shelf in the dining room and flies off to the north pole to report to Santa on whether or not our family has been good or bad that day.  Before the sun comes up her returns and has usually been up to something while we are still asleep.  Every morning Mya gets up she has to find him in the house.  One morning he had dumped over a candy dish and eaten two pieces of candy!  Another morning she found him curled up in her underwear drawer!  This morning Elfie decided to collect some Christmas friends from around the house and start a game of Candyland!  This is how Mya found him.  Giggles ensued:)

Halloween 2012!

Tuesday was camo day at school.  Right up Mya's Alley:)

The kids can't wear costumes to school on Halloween, so we decked out Mya in all her halloween stuff!

Mya and the neighbor girls, Paityn and Sydney, getting ready to hit the neighborhood!
Cute little zebra!

We went over to Jude and Ellie's house to trick or treat in their neighborhood next and Mya got to drive Ellie's gator around.  They know how to do it!

 Ellie, Mya, and Jude
Grace joined us later as Edward Scissor Hands!  I LOVED that movie!
Happy Halloween Everyone!

A Little Trip to the Big City

Randy, Mya, and I made a quick trip to the Twin Cities this weekend to visit my mom and sister:)

Ashley moved into a new apartment that's just a couple blocks from this bridge.  If you stand in the middle of the bridge you get an amazing view of downtown.  Very cool.

Mom has a park just around the corner from her house.  Mya makes sure to pay it a visit every time we come to see Ya Ya.

Thanks Mom and Ash for a fun weekend!

Grandpa Bill's 85th Birthday Party

Randy's Grandpa, Bill Grotluschen, turned eighty five last week!  We celebrated his Birthday at the Breckenridge Community Center last Saturday...

Grandpa and his kids.  From left:  Jim Grotluschen, Helen Zajac, Grandpa Bill, Steph Miranowski, Greg Heitkamp(nephew), and Bob Grotluschen.

Grandpa's Grandchildren.  Only 3 weren't able to make it.

All of Grandpa's great grandchildren.

Randy's cousin, Beth, took this photo of Mya and I.

Beth also snapped a picture of Mya and I trying to take a picture of ourselves.  This one makes me laugh:)

Nashville!

I'm a coordinator for a Drug Free Communities Coalition in Wilkin County, The ATOD Coalition.  At the end of July myself, a coalition member, and two BHS youth joined me to attend the national CADCA (Community Anti Drug Coalitions of America)  in Nashville, TN!  A huge part of the conference is a "National Youth Leadership Initiative".  It's like a week long youth rally that teaches kids how to be leaders in their community.  I attended that with the girls as their advisor and it was an awesome experience.

We stayed at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel.  I can't even explain this place.  It's ENORMOUS.  If you've ever been to Nickolodean Universe in Mall of America that's what the middle of this place is like.  There's restaurants, shops, waterfalls, all in the middle of the hotel.  Amazing.

Downtown Nashville

The inside of our hotel

My travel buddies Kyla and Addy Diaz and Mata Packard:)

The Inside of the famous White Horse Saloon Downtown Nashville...  This is a restaruant!  A full concernt happening on stage while we ate.  They also served the best fried pickles!  Delicious!

Our branded Minors!  They checked IDs at the door and the bouncer wrote "M" on all the  poor minors' hands!

The Grand Ole Opry.  This was just steps from our hotel.

We saw Lauren Alaina and Rascal Flatts, to name a few, at the Opry.

Minus the 6 hour layover in Chicago on the way home, it was a really fun trip:)
