Memorial Weekend Part 1

We spent Monday at the zoo and then running throug a sprinkler in the back yard:)

Fargo Marathon!

Dad, Ashley, and I ran the 5K together Friday night of the Fargo Marathon

Dad finished in approx 26 minutes, Ashley in approx 30 minutes, and I finished in 32 minutes.  My goal was to RUN the WHOLE thing and I did just that!:)  There were 6500 people running/walking the 5K.  It took 9 minutes for the entire mob to cross the starting line!

Dad ran the half-marathon on Satuday morning.  Ashley and I snapped this picture of him at Mile 6.  About half way. 

I found this picture on The Forum website.... Not sure what mile this is, but some are still smiling!

Dad finished the half in just under 2 hours!  Very cool.  I'm super motived to up my goal and run the 10K next year.  Anybody wanna join me?:)

Happy Mother's Day!

Randy and Mya bought me flowers for Mother's Day:)  My mom helped me pick them out and then snapped these shots as we planted them...  It was a fun day!

Mya in her Easter Dress:)  She hates the camera, so YES these are the only pictures I got.  We did try to take some family shots and in EVERY SINGLE ONE she turned her head so we can't see her face. She's  such a pleasant child.

We had a Bday party for Randy last night.  It's a long standing tradition in the Miranowski family that we ALWAYS get together for Birthdays.  ALWAYS.   Even when the Birthday Boy is an old fart!  Also- a long standing Miranowski tradition... competitive sports!  They spent the evening playing kick ball in our back yard.  Below you'll see that Mya is getting "trained-in!"

My First Peep!

Run a 5K. CHECK!

Last fall when all my fat pants started turning into my skinny pants I decided I'd had enough!  It was time for a change.   I found a used treadmill through facebook, convinced the hubby to get it for me for Christmas and I haven't looked back since:)  The first time I got on that treadmill I had to force myself to finish a 30 minute walk.  BUT, I stayed at it and have never been more driven to do anything in my life.  My goal was to complete a 5K (3 mile run) and last weekend I DID IT!  It had snowed the night before, so we were running in slush and it was a balmy 30 degrees, but was still sooo FUN!  We ran around the MSUM campus and all the trees were covered in snow and frost... so pretty!  I was terrified of coming in last, but  finished right in the middle of the pack.  I crossed the finish line right behind my sisiter and ended up running it in just over 34 minutes (not terrific, but not terrible).  I'm now hooked and can't wait to do another one!  And, YES, I am tooting my own horn:)!  But, It was a big deal for me.  A big accomplishment and I'm proud of it! GO ME! Hee Hee!
p.s.  I would like to thank Britney Spears, Eminem, and Rhianna for blaring through my Ipod and keeping me going, my Nike Free Runs- I love you guys!  And of course my sister for convincing me that I could do it! (ahhhhhh!)

Farm Girl

We spent Saturday out at Papa's farm...  Papa and Mya's favorite thing to do is ride around the farm on the 4-wheeler.  While dad and I were visiting in the yard Mya grabbed her baby and tried to give her a ride:)
